Kathy Huschke brings decades of experience in philanthropy and nonprofit leadership to Clear Foundation Management, with particular expertise in private foundation management, grantmaking, nonprofit relationships, and community philanthropy.

Prior to joining Clear Foundation Management as a Senior Fellow, Kathy served for 15 years as Executive Director of the Oleson Foundation in Traverse City, Michigan. In that role, she worked closely with foundation leadership to steward the Oleson family's philanthropic legacy and support nonprofit organizations throughout the Grand Traverse region. She retired from the Foundation in 2024.

Before joining the Oleson Foundation, Kathy served as Vice President of Program at the Fremont Area Community Foundation, where she gained extensive experience in community-based philanthropy, grantmaking, and nonprofit partnerships.

As Senior Fellow to Clear Foundation Management, Kathy draws upon her experience leading a private family foundation to provide practical insight and guidance to the firm and its clients. Having worked from the funder's side of the table for much of her career, she understands both the strategic responsibilities of foundation leadership and the day-to-day work required to operate a thoughtful, responsive, and effective philanthropic organization.

Kathy has also demonstrated a longstanding commitment to strengthening the broader philanthropic and nonprofit sector. Her professional and volunteer service has included involvement with the Council of Michigan Foundations, Exponent Philanthropy, and the Council on Foundations, among other boards and committees.

A Traverse City native, Kathy graduated from Traverse City Central High School and earned her B.A. in Communications from Michigan State University. Kathy and her husband, John, live in Traverse City, where they enjoy the region and spending time with their two grown children and four grandchildren.
